Girls 7th Grade Basketball, Girls 8th Grade Basketball · Lady Stars split with Zionsville West


The Western Boone 7th grade girls basketball team hosted Zionsville West Middle School on Tuesday evening, and the Lady Stars started the night hot, as they jumped out to an early 10-5 lead by the end of the first quarter. However, the Lady Eagles were able to regroup and make a solid defensive effort the rest of the way, as they prevailed by a final score of 50-16. Leading the Lady Stars on the evening were Jazmine Bowling and Maddie Roys, who each finished with six points, and Alayna Christner with four.  Christner and Ki’erra Koch led the Lady Stars in rebounding, each grabbing six for the game.

The 8th grade Lady Stars hosted Zionsville West last night. After defeating the Eagles earlier in the season 19-17, the Stars dominated, coming out on top 33-19. Emmy Roys led the way with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Macy Woodrum had a team high 9 rebounds and added 6 points. Emily Conyer also contributed 6 points, while Katheryn Rutherford had 5 points.

The 7th grade Lady Stars return to action on Monday, February 25th, when they travel to Tri-West, while the 8th graders will be looking for a Sagamore Conference tournament championship this Thursday and Saturday.
