Boys Varsity Basketball · Last second bucket propels Stars over Tiger Cubs

The Varsity Boys’ Basketball team traveled to Greencastle last night to make up from the cancellation on the 19th.  It was an exciting game as both teams took leads from one another. With the Stars leading by 1, Greencastle hit a 3 to take a two point lead. Lucas Morton responds with a 3 to give the Stars a one point lead. The Tiger Cubs answers back with a 2 point basket to give them the lead with 10 seconds left to play. After advancing the ball to mid-court, the Stars called timeout to set up a play. Spencer Wright took the inbounds pass. After a shot fake, he took it to the hole and hit a 2 pointer to give the the lead back to the Stars with 2.2 seconds to play. Morton deflected the inbounds pass forcing a long shot attempt for the Tiger Cubs that came up short giving the Stars a well earned victory 65-64.  Everyone contributed to the victory. Wright and Morton led the Stars with 19 points each. Connor Hole came off the bench and played good defense while dishing out 3 assists.
