The 7th grade Lady Stars basketball team finally found themselves in the win column on Thursday, as they traveled to Clinton Prairie and defeated the Lady Gophers 17-10. The Stars used a suffocating defense to force several Gopher turnovers and improved their season record to 1-3. All twelve WeBo players contributed to the win in a variety of aspects. Leading the way was Grace Miller who finished the night with 5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots, all game highs. Stefanie Dickerson added 4 points, while Alayna Christner hauled in 4 rebounds. Jazmine Bowling, Ki’erra Koch and Lillie Cripe each scored 2 points to round out the scoring for the Lady Stars.
Following a win from last night, the 8th grade Lady Stars fell to Clinton Prairie 31-14. The Stars fell behind early and had trouble getting shots to fall throughout the night. Emmy Roys led the way with 8 points while Macy Woodrum pitched in 6 points and 8 rebounds.
The Lady Stars will be back in action Monday against Southmont at 6:00 pm. The 7th grade game will take place at Western Boone, while the 8th grade game will take place at Southmont.
