Boys Varsity Basketball · Stars fall to Huskies late

The Boys’ varsity Basketball team traveled to Hamilton Heights for a makeup game on Tuesday night. The Stars fell behind early and trailed by 11 at the half. The Stars battled back to take the lead in the closing minutes. Hamilton Heights took the lead on two free throws with less than 15 seconds to play. Peyton Young received the inbounds pass and drove the length of the floor only to have his shot roll off the rim allowing the Huskies to escape with a 67-65 victory.

Spencer Wright led the Stars with a double double scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Lucas Morton and Cortez Stoudemire contributed 15 and 14 points respectively. Peyton Young grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 6 assists.

The Stars will host North Montgomery on Friday for Homecoming in a boy/girl conference match up. Girl’s game tips off at 6:00 pm, with the boy’s tip-off afterwards.
