Girls 7th Grade Basketball, Girls 8th Grade Basketball · 7/8th girl’s basketball splits with Lebanon

The 7th grade Lady Stars basketball team hosted the Lebanon Lady Tigers on Thursday evening, and while the Stars were able to keep it close early, they soon found themselves in foul trouble.  The Tigers were then able to use their advantages in both size and experience to put together a comfortable halftime lead and never looked back, defeating the Stars 43-11.  The loss drops the Stars’ record to 0-2 on the young season. Tallying points for the Lady Stars were Sarah Breedlove, Jazmine Bowling, Cheyenne Isenhower, Stefanie Dickerson, Alayna Christner, and Caitlin Pierce. Pierce and Grace Miller each recorded three rebounds to lead the Stars.

The 8th grade Lady Stars played after the 7th grade team for the night. Both teams fought hard but the Stars ended up on top 27-22. It was a solid team effort throughout the whole game with Emily Conyer and Emmy Roys leading the way with 10 points each. Macy Woodrum also added 4 points and had a team high 7 rebounds.

The Lady Stars will travel to Clinton Prairie on Monday for a MLK Day tilt with the Lady Gophers. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm. The 7th grade will start off the night, with the 8th grade following.
