The boys’ JV basketball team was busy over break as they went 4-1. The Stars started off by defeating Clinton Central 55-41. The Stars had balanced scoring as several of them contributed. Brett Wethington led the team with 15 points, and 4 steals. Dane Elkins chipped in points 10 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Jonathon McAtee and Max Wheatley each contributed 7.
The Stars hosted Covington the next day winning a close one 50-48. Jake Jones had the touch as he led the team with 24 points. Brett Wethington and Caleb Freeman contributed 11 and 7 points respectfully.
The Stars hosted Lafayette Harrison on 12/28 and came away with the win 43-37. Caleb Freeman led the team with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Brett Wethington added 12 points and 4 rebounds.
In the JV Sugar Creek Classic, the Stars came up short against Southmont in the first game, 66-59. The Stars had balanced scoring as the following players contributed: Wethington-16, Jones-14, McAtee-13, Freeman-9, and Elkins-7. The team had 12 assists for the game against one turnover. The Stars defeated North Montgomery in a low scoring consolation game 27-25. Wethington led the team with 10 points. Connor Garrity pulled down 5 rebounds. Max Wheatley and Casey Baird came off the bench at the end to lead the defense to a crucial stop to win the game.
The Stars travel to Frankfort on Thursday for a conference boy/girl double header.
