The junior high football teams finished their season with two wins against Frankfort Tuesday night. The 7th grade won 20-8 and the 8th grade won 34-0.
After a sluggish start, the 7th grade got on track taking a 6-0 lead with a touchdown by Mason Adams. In the second quarter, Cannon Brunes got loose for a touchdown to put the Stars up 12. Frankfort was able to muster up a score just before halftime making the score 12-8 at the break. With a few halftime adjustments, the Stars shut out Frankfort in the second half and stretched their lead to 20-8 with another Brunes rushing touchdown. Adams and Brunes paced the Stars offensively and defensively in their final 7th grade game. The 7th grade finished their season 5-4.
The 8th grade team closed out their conference play with a win making them outright conference champions for the second consecutive year. Several Stars played well in their final junior high game. Rowan Durbin was dialed in all night, passing for a couple touchdowns and having a nearly perfect completion percentage. Blake Miller caught a touchdown pass as well as Trevor Weakley. Miller found the end zone a second time in the 3rd quarter on a reverse. Ryan Taylor got on the board on a sweep to the outside. Evan Trent got in on the rushing action with several big gains of his own. Defensively WeBo was swarming all night. Several Stars played well including Eli McClaine who had 3 interceptions. Emmy Roys, Perrin Emberton, Evan Crowley, were physical up front and Weakley and Zayne Sturgis had several tackles each. Miller and Taylor played well on the edges and the entire secondary was extremely solid. Also, Jake Taylor was 4-5 on PATs. The 8th grade finished their season 8-1, 8-0 in the conference.
