Multiple Teams · JH Volleyball sweeps Crawfordsville


The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade volleyball teams faced the Crawfordsville Athenians Wednesday night in their last home match of the season.

The 6th grade won in straight sets 25-13 and 25-14. Olivia Smith led the Stars with 15 service points along with Emma McClaine as she had 7 service points along with 4 aces. The B team won in three sets in an exciting match. The Stars won the first game 25-9, came up short in the second 24-25, and won the final set 15-12. Kaylee Groves led the Stars with 12 service points.

The Lady Stars defeated Crawfordsville in two sets last night with scores of 25-20 and 25-22. Adelaide Jones led the team in the first set with 7 serving points and Ella Jones came in strong in the second set with 12 serving points.

The Stars had a sluggish offensive start against an improved Crawfordsville team but rallied and defeat the Athenians 25-24, 25-12.  Elena Gubera led the Stars in serving, while Kennedy Kiger and Audrey Dunn lead the way with kills, and defensive dig leaders were Chloe Gillan and Hannah Smith.

The 6th grade will be back in action next Wednesday as they travel to Clinton Prairie for a 6:00 pm start. The 7th and 8th grade teams will be back in action tonight as they travel to Southmont to take on the Mounties to finish up their season. The 7th grade will start at 6:00 pm, with the 8th grade following.
