Boys 7th Grade Football, Boys 8th Grade Football · 7th Football wins in OT; 8th Football wins to complete the sweep


The 7th and 8th grade football teams swept Danville on Tuesday night in dramatic fashion. The 7th grade picked up the big win in overtime 22-20. Luke Jackson and Cannon Brunes had big games for the Stars. Jackson led the Stars rushing attack with 2 touchdowns and a game winning 2 point conversion in overtime. In overtime, the Warriors scored first but were stopped on the 2 point conversion. When the Stars got the ball, they wasted no time getting in the end zone in 2 plays before punching in the 2 point conversion for the win.

The 8th grade team got out to a hot start. The Stars received the opening kickoff and a few short plays later Rowen Durbin connected with Marcus Stepp for a touchdown. The Stars defense was flying around all night pursuing the football. Ryan Taylor had a fumble recovery and a rushing touchdown of his own. Chase Richwine stepped up big at safety with a couple of pass break ups. Trevor Weakley was the leader of the ground attack with some tough yards and big gains and one touchdown. The Stars pick up the win with a score of 20-12.

The Stars will be traveling down the road next Tuesday as they face our rival, the Lebanon Tigers, starting with the 7th grade at 5:30 pm with the 8th grade following.
