Boys 8th Grade Baseball · Stars fall to the Blackhawks

Even though the 8th grade baseball team didn’t win, it was another hard fought ball game. The Sheridan Blackhawks had our Stars in a big hole early, leading 9-0 after two innings. The Stars exploded for 8 runs in the bottom of the third, making the score 10-8. The Blackhawks score two runs in the next two innings, while holding Webo scoreless. With the score 14-8, our boys came through with 6 runs in their bottom half of the inning, tying the score at 14 all. Sheridan came right back with 4 runs in the top half of their final at bat, holding the Stars to one run.  Final score 18-15.
Wyatt Saunders pitched well tonight after struggling to find his timing early this season. Saunders pitched 3 2/3 solid innings, striking out 3 batters, giving up only 2 earned runs.
Stars hitters were on fire, collecting a season high 14 hits. Mitch Miller led the way with three hits, one being a double. Adding two hits apiece were John Harlos, Elliott Beck King, and Jake Hendricks.
The team will travel to Clinton Central on Friday. Game time at 6 pm.
