Boys 8th Grade Baseball · Stars comeback falls short against Clinton Prairie

The 8th grade baseball team was in action Wednesday night as they took on the visiting Clinton Prairie Gophers. The Stars never led but never gave up in a fun ball game. The team came together, battling to the end.  After the first inning, the score was 4-2, Gophers leading. Both teams scored five in the second, making it 9-7. Clinton Prairie scored two in the third with neither team scoring in the fourth making the score 11-7 Clinton Prairie. Our boys weren’t done yet. In the fifth, the Stars held the Gophers scoreless while scoring three runs only to come up short 11-10, final score.
The Stars collected 6 hits on the night. Elliott Beck-King and Jaxon Oldham each had two. Casey Baird and Elliott Young had one apiece. Young scored three runs and Baird added two.
Elliott Young pitched in relief of Mitch Miller, striking out 6 and allowing no free passes.
The Stars will be back in action tonight as they host Crawfordsville starting at 6 pm.
