Boys 8th Grade Baseball · Stars outmatched by Frankfort

Wednesday night, our 8th grade baseball team played Frankfort at home. Frankfort won the game 14-2 in five innings. Our Stars held their own for four innings with the score being 6-2 Frankfort.
Casey Baird started the game with Brandon Kail coming in to relieve. Baird threw strikes while pitching, letting his defense get the outs. Kail has been effective all season coming in as a reliever. Today, he got the third out in the fifth with a bases loaded, 3-2 count strike out.
The Stars had five hits on the evening. Elliott Young had 2, Mitch Miller, Casey Baird, and Elliott Beck-King each had one. In the bottom of the fifth, Miller hit a shot to left center for a triple.
Defensively the whole team had a good night. Young was responsible for or involved with 6 outs, including two double plays. Jaxon Oldham was solid at first base and Jake Hendricks had two nice catches in center field.
This was the second game of four this week for our 8th graders. They will strap their cleats on again for a home game on Friday to face Southmont starting at 6 pm.
