Boys 8th Grade Baseball · Stars fall to Squires in high scoring affair

Our 8th grade baseball team played at McCaw park in Lafayette on a perfect Monday evening.  They faced a Central Catholic team named the Lafayette Squires.
The Squires jumped out to a 13-0 lead after two innings with a combination of hits, walks, and defensive miscues by the Stars. The Stars did not give up though, scoring 10 runs over the next two innings. The score stood at 15-10, with the final score being 16-10.
Elliott Young pitched well over 5 innings. Allowing two earned runs while striking out 5 Squire hitters.
During our come back, several team members had hits and the defense righted itself slowing the Squires active bats down.
Wednesday, the Stars will suit up to play the visiting Hot Dogs of Frankfort with the game time being at 6 pm.
