Boys 7th Grade Baseball · Stars shut down the Hot Dogs

The Western Boone Stars shine on a chilly Saturday morning. The 6th/7th grade baseball team beat the host Frankfort Hot dogs 9-3. The game was tight through 4 innings with the Hot Dogs leading 3-2. In the top half of the fifth, the Stars exploded for 7 runs to seal the victory.
Starting pitcher Blake Miller threw 3 solid innings. Allowing 1 earned run on two hits, while striking out 3. Brandon Kail came in and threw two scoreless innings in relief. Kail faced only 7 batters, giving up no hits and striking out 3.
Drew Gott and Zayne Sturgis each had two hits for the Stars’ offense.
The Stars will host Lebanon on Tuesday starting at 6 pm.
