Boys 7th Grade Baseball · Stars score 17 runs in rout against the Gophers

Western Boone’s 6th/7th grade baseball Stars took a short trip to Clinton Prairie Tuesday night and came home with another victory.  The 17-2 victory pushes the Stars record to 4-2 on the season.
Strong pitching by Owen Kiplinger and Jake Johnson led the way for the Stars. Kiplinger threw three innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits with 4 strikeouts. Johnson tossed two scoreless innings surrendering only one hit and struck out five Gopher hitters.
Our number one and two hitters, Zayne Sturgis and Ryan Taylor, reached base all 10 times they went to the plate.  They also combined to score 7 of the teams 17 runs.
The team will travel to Tiger town on Thursday to face Lebanon starting at 6 pm.
