The Lady Stars softball team picked up a conference win last night against Southmont 4-3. The Lady Stars started early, scoring 2 runs in the first after a Hannah Redlin double, Briley Burns reaching on an error and Heather Clark singling to right field. The Lady Stars were held in check the next 5 innings stranding 7 base runners. As the game entered the 7th inning the defense had allowed 3 runs off 3 hits and the Lady Stars were trailing 3 to 2. The Lady Stars were able to plate 2 runs after a Burns single and a huge 10 pitch walk earned by Hillary Reed backed by a reached on error by Paige Armstrong and a sacrifice fly by Victoria Grimes. Hannah Redlin returned to the mound to finish off the comeback win getting a strike out and two 4-3 ground outs. Redlin gets the win allowing 3 runs on 3 hits and recording 4 strikeouts for the evening.
The Lady Stars are back in action tonight with a 5 pm start at home as they take on the Lady Blackhawks of Sheridan.
The JV Lady Stars were also in action at Southmont last night dropping a tough one 7-6. The Lady Stars fell behind and were trailing 7 to 3 going into the final inning and looked like they might make a comeback as the scored 3 runs but the comeback fell short with the tying run on second.
