Girls 6th Grade Basketball · Lady Stars make it three in a row

The 6th grade Lady Stars traveled to Crawfordsville on Wednesday night to battle the Athenians and came away with a sweep as both the A and B teams were triumphant.

In the opener, the A team led the entire way after jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter, finishing with a convincing 31-16 victory.  The Stars’ scoring attack was paced by Stefanie Dickerson, who finished with an even 10 points.  Cheyenne Isenhower added 6, Alayna Christner tallied 5 and Aleigh Snow had 4 points.  Snow also led the team with an impressive 11 rebounds, while Isenhower led a stingy defensive attack with 7 steals.  The win keeps the Stars perfect on the season with a 3-0 record.

The B team finished the sweep by improving their record to 2-1 with a 22-15 victory.  Five different Stars scored, led by Cadence Ross with 8 points.  Caitlin Pierce and Emily Parsons each had 4 points for the Stars.  Pierce led the way with 8 rebounds, while Ross also fought for 6 steals on defense.

The Lady Stars are back in action Monday, February 12th, when they host Attica.
