Boys Junior Varsity Basketball, Boys Varsity Basketball · Stars’ 4th quarter too much for the Athenians

The varsity and jv boys basketball teams traveled to Crawfordsville last night for a Sagamore Conference match up.

The jv team struggled through the first 3 quarters trailing 32-17. The Stars turned up the defensive intensity and took the lead late in the fourth quarter only to fall short 35-38. They moved the ball well late hitting the open man to bring them back.

The junior varsity team are off until next Thursday when they take on Speedway.

The varsity team trailed most of the game until Peyton Young hit a buzzer beater 3 at the end of the third quarter to tie the game at 37-37. The Stars used great teamwork and ball movement to outscore the Athenians 24-10 in the fourth for the 61-47 victory.

The Stars are now 3-3 in the Sagamore Conference and travel to Frankfort on Tuesday for their final conference game. It is a Varsity only game. Tip off is 7 pm.
