Boys 6th Grade Basketball · Stars Win in a OT Thriller

The A team pulls out a victory in overtime against Lebanon 30-28, giving them a record of 7-2 on the season.  The Stars had a slow start but led at halftime 11-7.  The Tigers came out after halftime and dominated the 3rd quarter, leading the Stars 15-13.  The Stars were losing by as many as 8 points in the 4th quarter but made a great comeback to tie the game to send it into overtime.  Jackson Grimes and Carter Elkins made some crucial free throws in overtime to seal the victory. Bryce Kopriva was the leading scorer with 13 points followed by Cannon Brunes with 9 points.
The B team loses their third game of the season to Lebanon 32-21, giving them a record of 6-3.  The Tigers came out strong and took an early 12-2 lead over the Stars at the end of the first quarter. The Stars worked hard in the 2nd quarter to cut the Tigers lead to 18-15 at halftime.  The shots were just not falling for the Stars in the 2nd half and the Tigers took advantage and didn’t look back. Jack Kinsel was the leading scorer with 9 points followed by Philip Talbott with 5 points.
The Stars take on Frankfort at home tonight at 6pm.
