Both the junior girl’s and boy’s soccer teams traveled to Lebanon Middle School to compete in the Sagamore Conference Tournament. Both the boys and girls played Frankfort first.
The boys had their struggles with the Hot Dogs as they fell to them 11-0. The Stars were simply outmatched against the Hot Dogs. The Stars finished their season with a 1-9 record.
The girls beat Frankfort 1-0 with a goal by Rachael Coleman in a very exciting and well played match. The Lady Stars came out aggressive and kept it 0-0 through the first half. The goal was scored at the 20 minute mark in the second half and the girls held strong even playing down a player.
With the win against the Hot Dogs, the girl’s team advanced and played Lebanon. The Tigers had a couple goals in the first half to make it a 2-0 heading into the break. With a Stars injury making them down two players, it turned into a defensive game. With being down two players, the Stars were outmatched as the Tigers scored 5 goals in the second half. The Stars lost to the Tigers 7-0. The girl’s team finishes the season with a 2-9 record.
