The Boy’s tennis team took a new line up to the courts at Lafayette Central Catholic Monday evening and didn’t quite get the job done. The team fell to the Knights 2-3 on the evening. The Stars ran Dylan Hamerin out to the 1 singles position where he hadn’t played since his freshman year. The senior fell 3-6, 3-6 in a hard fought contest. Fellow senior John Bromberek played 2 singles for the Stars and after winning the first set, he ran out of steam and lost in 3 sets. The last Aidan Smith rounded out the singles line up for the night and he also lost in a 3 set contest.
The two wins for the Stars came at the doubles positions. Ethan and Keith Dobbs, playing for the first time together, picked up a straight set win at 1 doubles. Junior Quentin Hicks and Sophomore Chase Lee picked up the other win.
The team is now 10-4 and travels to Rossville Tuesday.
