Outside of being Homecoming this Friday night, there is also a special event taking place. Between the girls and boys basketball games will be this year’s HOF Induction. As we go through the week we will take a look at those going in. Congratulations to our first HOF inductee of this year’s class, David McClain.


Football, Wrestling, Baseball
– Class of 1989 –

A 1989 Webo Graduate, David was an outstanding three-sport athlete.
He led the Stars to the 1988 IHSAA 2A State title. It was a banner season for McClain who passed for 2,450 yards and 26 TD’s. He was also named the Phil N. Eskew Mental Attitude Award winner (outstanding senior participant in the Football State Finals). McClain holds Webo career records in passing yards- 5317 and passing TD’s- 55. He was also a prolific wrestler and is second all-time in wins in a season- 38, most points in a bout- 25, most takedowns in a season- 100 and had the second best season record at 38-2. David went 73-5 his Jr. & Sr. seasons and was a three-time All-State wrestler, placing 5th, 4th, and 3rd at the IHSAA state championships. David was also a major contributor on the diamond and finished his baseball career with 10 home runs.
