West Lafayette (8-2) at Western Boone (6-4)

Western Boone had no problem getting past Benton Central last Friday, topping the Bison 56-21. West Lafayette also easily advanced, knocking off Tipton 48-7.

West Lafayette comes into the game ranked fourth in the AP Poll and third in the Coaches Poll. Western Boone in unranked.

In the Sagarin rankings, West Lafayette is fourth best in the class and 31st overall. Western Boone is 24th in Class 3A and 122nd in the state.

Western Boone comes in scoring 24.8 points a game and allowing 20.3. West Lafayette is scoring 44.9 points a game, 17th best in the state and fourth in the class. They are allowing 19.1 points a game.

The two teams have met three times since 1994, with West Lafayette holding a 2-1 advantage in the series. The Red Devils topped the Stars 41-23 last year in the sectional.

For Western Boone, quarterback Jack Gilliam is 58 of 115 on the year for 710 yards passing. He has added 320 on the ground. Spencer Wright has played in the last two games and is 19 of 29 for 330 yards and six touchdowns.

Zach Belcher leads the team with 512 yards 107 carries, while Ryan Solomon has 471 yards rushing.

Aaron Cook leads the team with 20 catches for 259 yards. Gilliam added more than 100 yards receiving against Benton Central.

Garrett Miller leads the defense with 71 tackles, Gilliam has 56, while Kyle Hysong has 46. Bryce Coppock leads with three sacks.

For West Lafaytte, quarterback Mikey Kidwell is 180 of 291 for 2,699 yards, 33 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He has added 493 yards rushing.

Running back Sage Hood has 217 carries for 1,199 yards and 17 touchdowns, while Joel Bales has 75 carries for 363 yards.

Matt Marley leads the receivers with 57 catches for 782 yards and six scores. Caleb Green has 43 catches for 637 yards and seven scores, while Luke Touloukian has 33 catches for 525 yards and seven scores.

R.J. Erb (325 yards) and Jonah Williams (294 yards) also have more than 15 catches.

George Karlaftis leads the defense with 88 tackles, including 12.5 for a loss and 11 sacks. Luke Staton has 76 tackles, including 10.5 for a loss and Gabe Parker has 74 tackles.

Staton and Touloukian have three interceptions each.

The game is set for 7 p.m. at Western Boone.
