Meet Recap

The Western Boone Stars traveled to Frankfort this evening to take on the up and coming Frankfort Hot Dogs in Sagamore Conference action. The Stars came away with a gritty 4-1 victory to improve their conference record to 2-0.

Gus Holdorf and Zach Prickett got the Stars off to a positive start with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at 1 Doubles and Ethan Dobbs followed them up with a straight set victory of his own. The only loss on the night for the Stars came at 3 singles where Quentin Hicks feel to Alex Rockhold 3-6, 3-6. The Stars’ freshman fought dehydration and took some positives from the match.

The last two matches for the Stars came down to 3rd sets. John Bromberek and Dylan Hamerin bounced back from a rough second set to finish off the win for the Stars by defeating the Hot Dogs 6-1 in the 3rd. Korbin Lough played a very good match against the Hot Dogs 4 year #1 singles player Mason Townsley. Lough dropped the first set 5-7 after being broken in his last service game of the frame, but rallied to win the match 6-2, 6-2 in the final two sets.

The Stars look to remain undefeated in conference play when they host the Lebanon Tigers on Thursday.
