Game Recap

Western Boone Boys Soccer improved to 3-0 in the conference on Saturday with a win over North Montgomery. After a 0-0 halftime score, the Stars came out with energy in the 2nd half going on a 5 goal run to win 5-0.

Jack Fortner scored twice for the Stars. Ben Wheatley, Miles Clutter, and Dylan Steines also scored for Western Boone. Clutter, Wheatley, and Adam Glidewell added assists. Andrew Knecht saved 4 shots to keep a clean sheet behind his defense, the first shutout for the Stars this season.

“It was really encouraging to see so many different people find the back of the net. It shows we have multiple options to score and are well rounded with our offense.” said coach Lucas Dull. “I had challenged the defense to get a shutout because we had let in goals when we shouldn’t have these past few games so I was glad to see them step up and keep that clean sheet this game.”

The Stars are right back in action on Monday when they take on Cascade.
