In the championship game of the Southmont Invitational, the Western Boone Stars varsity girls' soccer team defeated North Montgomery 4-2 to bring the trophy home. Top scorer for the Stars on the day was freshman Camryn Savage with 2 goals, bringing her season total to 10 goals. Also scoring were freshmen Meg Kinslow and Maddie Wright. Assisting for the Stars were Mackenzie Hoffman, Alli Voils, and Holly Foxworthy. It took a solid team effort to secure the win, including great defense from Julia Hole, Rachel Ramey, Mickie Bogan, Mackenzie Hoffman, and Lindsey Hoffman, Goalkeeper Allie Aguirre came up big in key moments, earning 9 saves.

The team's record now stands at 9-2-1, (3-2 in the conference). The Stars will travel to Frankfort on Monday to play a 5:30 match.
