The Western Boone varsity girls' soccer team defeated University High school 4-0 on Thursday night. Scoring for the Stars were Ashley Hieston, Mackenzie Hoffman, Camryn Savage, and Pate Thomerson. The first two goals were assisted by Rachel Ramey. Hieston and Meg Kinslow also added an assist apiece. The win is the fifth shut-out for the Stars, and the fourth consecutive win. Senior goalkeeper Allie Aguirre continues to add shut-outs to her school record-breaking career, with her 21st career shut-out. Aguirre notched 14 saves on the night behind a tough Stars defense that has only allowed 2 goals in the past 4 games.

The team is now 7-2-1 overall, and will travel to Southmont to play in an invitational on Saturday. Western Boone will face North Putnam at 9 am, with the championship round to follow at 11:45.

In JV action, the Stars were on top by a score of 1-0. Freshmen Meg Kinslow scored the lone goal for Western Boone on a free kick. Goalkeeper Kaylee Collins earned the shut-out.
