The boys golf team competed at West Lafayette Golf and Country Club last evening in a three-way match, vs the hosting Lafayette Central Catholic Knights and fellow visiting Crawfordsville Athenians. The Stars were able to claim a second-place finish, shooting a 203 to finish behind the Knights, but ahead of the Athenians. High winds and a great, but difficult course, prevented the Stars from shooting their best team round of the Spring. However, in reality, it was the Stars' best performance of the young season considering those factors. Evan Terwiske's 47 once again led the way for the Stars. In the unofficially scored JV portion, the Stars played well and gained valuable experience once again. The first-year players continued to demonstrate great resolve to just keep playing and learn the game shot by shot. Several Stars who are the anchors for the JV group performed well and started to show signs of real breakthroughs with their games. Julian McClaine had his best night of golf yet while shooting a 56. The Varsity team will be at Crawfordsville CC on Saturday to compete in the Mountie Invite.
